The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual harassment and stalking. Police said further investigation is underway to determine whether the duo was involved in additional similar incidents reported in other parts of the city.
Residents welcomed the swift action but urged authorities to improve street lighting and increase police presence in vulnerable areas. Women’s groups also called for sustained enforcement measures to ensure safer public spaces in Kochi.
Police have advised citizens to report any such incidents immediately and assured that strict action will be taken against offenders to maintain public safety.
