In a significant development for public transport, the Central Government has announced eight new weekly train services from Hyderabad, aimed at improving connectivity to various parts of India.
These trains will operate from major stations including Kacheguda, Cherlapally, and Nampally, connecting Hyderabad to destinations across Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Odisha. A large portion of these services will cater to religious travelers, with five trains dedicated to routes like Tirupati and Tiruchanur.
The initiative comes after long-standing demands from passengers for better rail connectivity, especially for pilgrimage and long-distance travel. The first of these services, connecting Cherlapally to Bhubaneswar, is expected to begin operations in early May 2026. Additional routes will be introduced gradually over the following months.
This move is expected to ease travel congestion, provide more options for passengers, and improve accessibility to key destinations. It is particularly beneficial for middle-class families and regular travelers who rely heavily on railways for affordable transportation.
Railway officials have also indicated that these new services are part of a broader plan to modernize and expand rail infrastructure in the region. Improved connectivity can boost tourism, religious travel, and economic exchange between states.
Overall, the introduction of these trains marks a major step toward enhancing Hyderabad’s transportation network, making travel more convenient and accessible for thousands of passengers.
