The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) is visiting Chennai on September 7 and 8, 2026, as part of its nationwide consultations with central government employees, pensioners, unions, associations and other stakeholders. The Commission’s official website confirms the Chennai visit.

During the two-day visit, eligible organisations and associations from Tamil Nadu can interact with the Commission and present their views and demands. Stakeholders seeking appointments were required to submit their requests along with a unique Memo ID generated after submitting their memorandum to the Commission.

The consultations are important because the 8th CPC is examining issues related to pay, allowances, pension and other service conditions of central government employees and pensioners. The Commission is headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, with Prof. Pulak Ghosh as part-time member and Pankaj Jain as Member-Secretary.
