HYDERABAD, September 14, 2026: Hyderabad is strengthening its position as one of India’s leading Global Capability Centre (GCC) hubs, with around 515 GCCs employing more than 3 lakh professionals, according to a recent report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and ANAROCK.

The report, titled “Hyderabad: The Rise of a Global Capability Powerhouse,” said the city had around 515 GCCs as of March 2026, accounting for nearly 20% of India’s total GCC ecosystem. Hyderabad’s combination of skilled talent, infrastructure and relatively competitive operating costs has helped attract multinational companies.

The city recorded particularly strong growth during FY25, adding more than 70 new GCCs. This was higher than the additions reported in Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai during the same period, highlighting Hyderabad’s growing appeal among global companies.

GCC activity is also driving demand for commercial real estate. Hyderabad recorded 3.05 million square feet of GCC office absorption in the first half of 2026, while GCC leasing had increased from about 1.9 million square feet in 2021 to 4.5 million square feet in 2025.

The report projects that Hyderabad could attract 50–70 additional GCCs over the next three to five years, potentially creating more than 75,000 high-skilled jobs. This expansion could generate an additional 8–12 million square feet of office-space demand across the city.

The GCC ecosystem is also becoming more diversified. Beyond traditional IT and IT-enabled services, companies are expanding operations in banking and financial services, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, semiconductors, aerospace and defence, automotive technology, healthcare and media technology.

With continued investment, expanding office infrastructure and a large skilled workforce, Hyderabad is increasingly positioning itself not only as a technology centre but as a broader hub for global research, innovation, engineering and corporate operations.
