Kerala has witnessed a major political change as the United Democratic Front returned to power after nearly ten years. Senior Congress leader V. D. Satheesan took oath as the new Chief Minister, marking the beginning of a new administration in the state. The swearing-in ceremony was held in Thiruvananthapuram in the presence of political leaders, party workers, and supporters from across Kerala.
The UDF secured a decisive victory in the Assembly elections, ending the long tenure of the Left Democratic Front government. Political analysts consider the result significant, as voters appeared to favor promises related to employment opportunities, infrastructure development, inflation control, and improved governance. The coalition campaigned strongly on issues affecting ordinary citizens, including rising living costs, youth unemployment, and economic growth.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, the new Chief Minister stated that the government’s immediate priority would be public welfare, transparent administration, and accelerating development projects across the state. He also emphasized strengthening healthcare, education, tourism, and investment opportunities in Kerala.
Celebrations were reported from various parts of the state as UDF supporters gathered at party offices and public spaces. Security arrangements were tightened in major cities, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode, to manage crowds during the celebrations.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders congratulated the new government while urging it to fulfill the promises made during the election campaign. Citizens across Kerala are now closely watching the new administration’s early decisions and policy announcements as the UDF begins its term after a decade-long wait to return to power.
