The Supreme Court of India is hosting the BRICS Chief Justices’ Forum in New Delhi from September 4 to 6. The forum brings together senior judicial leaders, including chief justices and presidents of supreme courts from BRICS member and partner countries.
The meeting provides an international platform for discussions on important issues affecting modern justice systems. Topics include improving justice delivery, international dispute resolution, mediation, cross-border arbitration, technology and sustainable development.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with several visiting judicial leaders during the forum. Such meetings provide an opportunity for participating countries to exchange experiences and discuss ways to strengthen judicial cooperation.
The event is particularly important because India is hosting several BRICS-related activities ahead of the BRICS Leaders’ Summit later this month. The judicial forum also highlights the increasing role of technology and artificial intelligence in courts and legal systems.
Officials expect the discussions to contribute to stronger cooperation between participating judiciaries and greater understanding of challenges related to international disputes, digital technology and sustainable development.
