Russia carried out another wave of overnight missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure and residential areas in multiple regions, Ukrainian officials said on Wednesday. The strikes reportedly damaged power facilities, railway infrastructure, apartment buildings, and industrial sites as air raid sirens sounded across major cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched hundreds of drones along with missile attacks in what officials described as one of the most intense aerial assaults in recent weeks. Emergency crews responded to fires and collapsed structures while civilians sought shelter in underground metro stations and bomb shelters overnight.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed injuries and structural damage in several districts of the capital, including residential buildings hit by debris from intercepted drones and missiles. Local officials stated that emergency services worked through the night to rescue residents and restore damaged utilities.

The attacks came shortly after the collapse of a temporary ceasefire initiative and amid renewed fighting along the eastern front. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of deliberately escalating attacks on civilian infrastructure while Ukraine simultaneously intensified drone strikes targeting Russian oil and energy facilities deep inside Russian territory.

European countries bordering Ukraine, including Poland and Slovakia, reportedly heightened security measures during the strikes, with Poland scrambling fighter aircraft and Slovakia temporarily tightening border operations due to concerns over the expanding conflict near NATO territory.
