Kochi City Police arrested two individuals near Infopark during a major anti-narcotics operation led by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (Dansaf). Officials stated that the accused were taken into custody after police recovered LSD stamps and hybrid cannabis from their possession during a late-night inspection.

According to police sources, the operation was conducted based on confidential information regarding suspected drug trafficking activities in the Infopark region. During the inspection, officers reportedly intercepted the suspects and carried out a detailed search, leading to the seizure of narcotic substances believed to be intended for distribution among youths and students.

Authorities revealed that several LSD stamps, hybrid cannabis packets, mobile phones, and other materials connected to drug transactions were recovered during the raid. Preliminary investigations suggest the accused may have been part of a wider narcotics supply network operating in Kochi and nearby urban areas.

Police officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify the source of the drugs and trace possible links to interstate narcotics suppliers. Cyber investigations and mobile phone examinations are also being conducted to gather more evidence regarding drug distribution channels and contacts.

The arrests come as part of intensified anti-drug campaigns launched by Kerala Police across the state, especially around educational institutions, IT hubs, and nightlife areas. Authorities have expressed concern over the increasing use of synthetic drugs and hybrid cannabis among young people in urban centers.

Senior police officers warned that strict action would continue against narcotics trafficking and consumption. Special monitoring and surprise inspections are expected to be intensified in Kochi and other major cities in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, local residents and parent organizations welcomed the police action and urged authorities to strengthen awareness programs on the dangers of drug abuse. Officials have appealed to the public to report suspicious drug-related activities to law enforcement agencies to help prevent the spread of narcotics among students and youth.
