India has won the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup, defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai. The victory gives India its eighth Women’s Asia Cup title and adds another major achievement to the country’s women’s cricket record.

India batted first and posted an impressive 183 for five. Shafali Verma played a powerful innings of 68 runs, while Smriti Mandhana contributed 59. The two batters established a strong opening partnership that gave India control of the match.

Shafali’s performance was particularly notable because she reached her half-century in only 24 balls, setting the fastest fifty in Women’s Asia Cup history. Mandhana also reached another important milestone with her 36th T20I half-century.

Sri Lanka struggled during the chase as India’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings. Sree Charani was particularly effective, taking four wickets, while Deepti Sharma also played an important role with the ball.

Sri Lanka ultimately failed to reach India’s total, allowing India to secure a comprehensive 72-run victory.

The result is another significant milestone for Indian women’s cricket and will provide confidence to the team ahead of upcoming international tournaments
