The Tamil Nadu government has appointed former Chennai Police Commissioner A. Arun as the new Director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). He will serve in the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).

The appointment was announced on Monday as part of a senior IPS officers reshuffle by the Tamil Nadu Home Department. A. Arun had earlier served as Chennai Police Commissioner and was also associated with Law and Order responsibilities in the state police department.

The DVAC is Tamil Nadu’s main anti-corruption agency responsible for investigating bribery and corruption cases involving public servants and government officials.
