India’s campaign at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, continues today with athletes competing across several disciplines. September 24 marks an important day for India because the athletics programme begins, alongside medal events in rowing, wushu, shooting, canoe sprint and other sports. One of the major Indian medal opportunities is in women’s wushu, where Roshibina Devi is scheduled to face China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the women’s Sanda 60kg final. Indian rowers are also competing in several medal events, including the men’s single sculls and double sculls. Athletics will feature several Indian competitors. Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht are scheduled for the women’s triple jump final, while Seema competes in the women’s 10,000m final. Sprinters Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh are also scheduled to begin their men’s 100m campaign.

India’s schedule also includes hockey and kabaddi matches later in the day. The Asian Games run from September 17 to October 3, bringing together athletes from across Asia in dozens of sporting disciplines.
