Traffic diversions have come into effect near Kasimedu signal from today and will remain in place for 15 days to facilitate repairs to a damaged sewage pipeline at the S N Chetty Road–Jeevarathinam Road junction. The Greater Chennai Traffic Police announced the temporary arrangements to manage vehicle movement during the repair work.
Buses and heavy vehicles travelling towards Ennore will be diverted through Jeevarathinam Road, VP Kovil Street and TH Road, before continuing via the TH Road toll-gate junction.
Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles heading towards Ennore will follow a similar route and take a U-turn near Metro Rail Pillar No. 12, before proceeding through Balakrishna Street.
Vehicles travelling from Ennore towards Parrys/Parry’s Corner will also be diverted. They will be moved to the opposite carriageway near the S N Chetty Road–Power Kuppam junction, before rejoining S N Chetty Road near the Kasimedu signal.
Traffic police have requested motorists to follow the diversion signs and cooperate with officials during the repair period. Commuters travelling through Kasimedu are advised to allow additional travel time and plan their routes accordingly.
