Several parts of southern and northeastern India are expected to experience rainfall on October 1, according to weather forecasts. Kerala, Mahe and parts of Karnataka are among the areas where fairly widespread to widespread rainfall has been forecast. Thunderstorms and rain are also expected in parts of eastern and northeastern India. Meanwhile, conditions are expected to become comparatively drier across Delhi-NCR and some parts of central India. The weather situation comes as the southwest monsoon begins its withdrawal from parts of northwest and central India while rainfall activity continues in several southern and northeastern regions. People in areas receiving heavy rain have been advised through weather alerts to follow local authorities and the latest India Meteorological Department updates, particularly when travelling. Rainfall can affect road traffic, visibility and outdoor activities, especially during intense showers. For Kerala, where October can still bring significant rainfall, residents should keep track of district-specific forecasts rather than relying only on statewide predictions
