A high-level security coordination meeting is being held at Chennai Airport on September 9, 2026, ahead of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s scheduled visit to Dubai.
According to a report by Indian Express Tamil, the Chief Minister is scheduled to depart from Chennai on September 10 and return on September 16. The meeting is focused on security arrangements and coordination between various departments for the overseas trip.
The meeting is scheduled at 11 a.m. at the Old Airport Ceremonial Lounge near Gate No. 6 and is being chaired by G. S. Madhavan, SP-II of the Security Branch CID. Senior officials from several agencies have been asked to participate.
Officials from the Chennai Police, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), immigration and customs departments, as well as representatives of Emirates Airlines, are among those involved in the coordination process.
The preparations also involve coordination with airport security, health authorities and other relevant departments to ensure the Chief Minister’s departure and return are handled smoothly.
