Thrissur, September 8, 2026: A massive fire broke out at Arian Tools and Components at Palapetty in Edamuttam, near National Highway 66 in Thrissur, late Monday night, causing extensive damage to the industrial unit. Preliminary estimates put the losses at several crores of rupees.
The fire was reported at around 11:30 p.m., shortly after the company had closed for the day. Employees had already left the premises when local residents noticed flames coming from the facility and alerted the authorities.
According to reports, around 40 machines of various sizes and associated equipment were destroyed in the blaze. The building itself also suffered extensive damage, leaving much of the facility gutted.
Several Fire and Rescue Services units were deployed to the scene and battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control. The timely response helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, although the exact cause has not yet been confirmed. Valapad police visited the site and have begun an investigation into the incident.
Arian Tools and Components manufactures machinery and components for the material-handling industry and provides engineering support. The facility employs around 100 workers.
The incident has caused significant damage to the company’s machinery and infrastructure, with authorities and the company assessing the full extent of the losses.
