Hyderabad, July 21: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday launched a fresh attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, alleging that it has failed to fulfill several of the promises made to the people during the Assembly election campaign. He claimed that growing public dissatisfaction reflects the government’s inability to meet expectations.
Addressing party workers and the media, KTR said the government had made assurances to farmers, unemployed youth, women, government employees, and other sections of society but had not delivered on many of its commitments. He alleged that delays in implementing welfare schemes and employment-related promises had led to disappointment among the public. According to KTR, the administration should focus on addressing people’s concerns rather than making political accusations against the opposition.
The BRS leader also questioned the pace of governance and urged the state government to provide clear timelines for the implementation of its election pledges. He maintained that transparency and accountability are essential to maintaining public confidence and called on the government to respond to issues affecting farmers, job seekers, and economically weaker sections.
The Congress government has previously stated that it remains committed to fulfilling its electoral promises and has cited financial constraints and administrative processes as reasons for the phased implementation of several schemes. Government leaders have maintained that welfare initiatives are being rolled out in stages and have rejected opposition allegations that the promises have been abandoned.
Political observers believe the exchange reflects the intensifying rivalry between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS as both parties seek to strengthen their support base across Telangana.
