Daily commuters in North Chennai are facing increasing difficulties as severe traffic congestion near the Ennore bus terminus continues to disrupt travel during peak hours. Long vehicle queues, slow-moving buses, and heavy truck movement have become a routine problem for residents and workers traveling through the busy industrial corridor.

According to local commuters, traffic jams are especially severe during morning and evening rush hours, with delays often stretching beyond 45 minutes. The congestion affects key connecting routes including Ennore Express Road, Manali Road, and areas leading toward the Chennai Port and industrial zones.

Residents blame the situation on narrow roads, ongoing infrastructure works, heavy container lorry traffic, and poor traffic regulation near the terminus. Frequent bottlenecks around bus stops and roadside parking have further worsened vehicle movement in the area.

Traffic police officials stated that temporary diversion measures and additional personnel have been deployed to ease congestion, while long-term road widening and flyover proposals are under review. However, commuters say immediate action is needed as daily travel has become increasingly stressful and time-consuming.

Local businesses and transport operators have also expressed concern that the persistent traffic issue is affecting productivity and increasing fuel costs. Many residents are urging authorities to speed up infrastructure upgrades and improve public transport coordination in North Chennai.
