Two unidentified militants were killed during a security operation in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir during the night of September 16–17. The operation was carried out jointly by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force.

According to the Indian Army, security forces received intelligence indicating the presence of militants in the Brattal area. During the search operation, the suspected militants opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Security forces subsequently reported that two militants had been killed. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the area.

Authorities have continued search and surveillance operations to determine whether additional militants are present in the region. Officials are also working to establish the identities and affiliations of those killed. The operation took place under difficult weather and terrain conditions, according to the Army.
