Hyderabad, September 23: US-based biopharmaceutical solutions company Syneos Health has opened a new Global Life Sciences and Technology Centre in Hyderabad, strengthening the city’s growing presence in the healthcare, biotechnology and technology sectors.

Spread across 1.37 lakh square feet, the new facility is Syneos Health’s largest centre in Asia and third-largest globally. The company plans to initially employ more than 700 professionals, with the workforce expected to expand in the coming years.

The centre is designed as a strategic growth hub rather than a conventional delivery centre. It will bring together teams working in clinical development, commercialisation, medical affairs, technology, artificial intelligence and corporate functions.

The facility will support Syneos Health’s global customers involved in drug development and commercialisation. By bringing scientific, clinical and technology specialists together, the company aims to develop integrated capabilities for the rapidly changing biopharmaceutical industry.

The Hyderabad centre also has a strong focus on AI and data-driven healthcare solutions. Syneos Health says its Hyderabad AI operations are focused on areas including clinical development, patient safety, pharmacovigilance, analytics and generative AI.

The facility was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. He highlighted Hyderabad’s combination of life sciences expertise and technology talent, describing the integration of these capabilities with AI as a major opportunity for the city’s healthcare ecosystem.

According to reports, Hyderabad already accounts for an estimated 20–23% of India’s healthcare-biotech global capability centre market. With Syneos Health’s new facility, four of the world’s five largest contract research organisations are now reported to have a presence in the city.

Syneos Health executives said the centre will bring together global leaders, clinical and commercial experts, technologists and innovators. The company expects the Hyderabad hub to play a growing role in developing specialised talent and supporting its worldwide biopharmaceutical operations.
