At just 16, Kerala’s Raul John Aju is gaining attention for building an artificial intelligence career while continuing his Class 12 studies. Based in Kochi, the young innovator has reportedly been developing AI projects and running a startup with around 15 employees.
Raul’s interest in artificial intelligence began at an early age. According to recent reports, he started teaching himself AI at around nine and built MeBot, a robot, as a school science project when he was 12. His curiosity gradually developed into a wider effort to create practical AI tools and make technology easier for others to understand.
His educational initiatives have reportedly reached nearly five lakh learners globally, while he has also developed more than 15 AI tools. His work has taken him to technology forums and international platforms, where he has spoken about AI, innovation and responsible technology use.
One unusual aspect of his entrepreneurial journey is that his father, Aju Joseph, now works in his son’s company and reportedly receives a monthly salary of ₹2 lakh.
Raul’s journey highlights how curiosity, self-learning and practical experimentation can help young people explore technology even before completing formal higher education.
