The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued multiple weather warnings as several parts of the country prepare for intense thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds. States including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience varying levels of severe weather activity over the next 48 hours.

In Kerala and coastal Karnataka, continuous rainfall has already led to waterlogging in low-lying areas, affecting traffic and daily commuting. Northern India, including Delhi and surrounding regions, is expected to witness dust storms followed by thunderstorms with wind speeds reaching up to 60–70 kmph.

Officials have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during lightning activity, and secure loose outdoor objects. Power disruptions and minor flooding are likely in vulnerable urban areas due to the intensity of rainfall.

Emergency response teams have been placed on standby in several states, and local administrations are monitoring river levels closely. Farmers have been advised to protect harvested crops and avoid field activity during storm warnings.

Meteorologists say these weather patterns are influenced by moisture inflow from the Arabian Sea combined with western disturbances over northern India. This combination often results in sudden and intense weather events during the early monsoon phase news as reported.
