Several universities and engineering colleges in Hyderabad are introducing new artificial intelligence and data science programmes in response to growing industry demand. Educational institutions say student interest in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, and automation has increased significantly over the past two years.

Colleges affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad have reportedly updated course structures to include practical training, industry projects, and certification programmes focused on emerging technologies. Many institutions are also partnering with technology companies to provide internship opportunities and skill-based workshops.

Education experts believe Hyderabad’s position as a major IT hub makes it an ideal location for advanced technology education. Companies operating in Hitec City and Financial District are actively looking for graduates with AI and analytics expertise, creating strong employment opportunities for students.

Students say the updated curriculum is helping them gain practical exposure beyond traditional classroom learning. Workshops on prompt engineering, cloud computing, robotics, and generative AI tools are becoming increasingly common across campuses.

However, some educators have stressed the need for balanced learning, warning that students should also focus on communication skills, creativity, and problem-solving alongside technical training. Industry leaders argue that future jobs will require both technical knowledge and adaptability.

The Telangana government has also expressed interest in strengthening digital education initiatives to prepare students for future technology-driven industries. Experts predict that AI-related education will continue expanding rapidly across Hyderabad as companies increasingly adopt automation and intelligent systems in business operations.
