Australia, Canada, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom have announced coordinated sanctions against individuals, organizations, and networks accused of supporting or enabling extremist settler violence in the occupied West Bank. The move follows a sharp rise in attacks on Palestinian communities and growing international concern over settlement expansion in the region.

The five countries said the sanctions are aimed at holding those responsible for violence accountable and disrupting financial and logistical support networks linked to attacks on Palestinian civilians. Several entities and individuals accused of financing, enabling, or carrying out violence have been targeted under the new measures.

In a joint statement, the governments described the level of settler violence as unacceptable and warned that it threatens regional stability and the prospects of a two-state solution. The countries also urged the Israeli government to take stronger action to prevent further attacks and curb settlement expansion.

Israel strongly criticized the sanctions, arguing that they unfairly target Israeli citizens and interfere in domestic affairs. Israeli officials rejected accusations that the government supports extremist violence and accused some Western nations of politicizing the issue.

The sanctions mark one of the most significant coordinated actions by Western allies against settler violence in recent years and signal increasing international pressure on Israel as tensions continue across the West Bank and the wider Middle East.
