An Etihad Airways flight from Chennai to Abu Dhabi was cancelled on Tuesday after a fire was reportedly detected on the aircraft’s left wing during take-off preparations at Chennai International Airport. Around 280 passengers were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

According to airport officials, the pilots noticed flames near the wing area before take-off and immediately stopped the aircraft as a precautionary safety measure. Emergency fire services responded quickly and brought the situation under control within minutes.

The Abu Dhabi-bound flight was officially cancelled following the incident, while technical inspections and safety checks were initiated. Authorities have not yet released the exact cause of the fire scare.
