HYDERABAD, September 17, 2026: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday night caught Keesara police station Sub-Inspector Dyapa Gnanender Reddy allegedly accepting a ₹5 lakh bribe in connection with a case registered at the police station.

According to the ACB, the money was allegedly demanded in return for granting station bail to the complainant and his friend and for not subjecting them to further harassment in the case. The matter has been linked in reports to a PDS rice-smuggling case.

The ACB said its City Range-1 team laid a trap after receiving a complaint about the alleged demand. Gnanender Reddy was reportedly caught at around 11.35 p.m. on September 16 while accepting the cash. The tainted amount was subsequently recovered from his possession.

Keesara Inspector and Station House Officer Arkapally Anjaneyulu was also booked in the case. According to the ACB, the Inspector was allegedly involved in the demand and had instructed the Sub-Inspector to collect the money.

Following the trap, ACB officials conducted searches at the Keesara police station and other premises connected with the accused officers as part of the investigation. Both the Inspector and Sub-Inspector were arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial proceedings.

The ACB investigation is continuing, and further details are expected as investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged bribe demand and the officers’ roles in the case.
