Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi on September 17. The three-day event, running from September 17 to 19, is focused on India’s growing semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem. It is being organised jointly by the India Semiconductor Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and SEMI, the global industry association for the semiconductor sector. The event is expected to bring together semiconductor companies, investors, researchers, start-ups, policymakers and representatives from academia.
The exhibition will showcase developments across different parts of the semiconductor value chain, including chip design, manufacturing, packaging and electronics. The event comes as India continues efforts to expand domestic semiconductor capabilities and attract investment in advanced electronics manufacturing. Earlier this week, Modi also held discussions with global semiconductor company executives about opportunities in India’s next phase of semiconductor development
