Hyderabad, July 22: Telangana Congress leaders and party workers staged a “Chalo Lok Bhavan” protest in Hyderabad on Wednesday, condemning the detention of senior Congress leaders during recent demonstrations over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. The protest drew party leaders, elected representatives, and workers from across the state, while police deployed heavy security around key government buildings to maintain law and order.
The demonstration was organized to express solidarity with Congress leaders who were detained during protests in New Delhi, where opposition parties demanded accountability over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and called for action against those responsible. Protesters in Hyderabad raised slogans seeking justice for students and urged the Union Government to ensure a transparent investigation into the controversy.
Authorities tightened security in and around Lok Bhavan and other important government establishments as a precautionary measure. Police erected barricades, regulated traffic, and monitored the protest to prevent any untoward incidents. The demonstration remained largely peaceful, although security personnel maintained a strong presence throughout the event.
Telangana Congress leaders described the detention of senior party leaders as an attack on democratic rights and reiterated their support for students protesting against the alleged examination irregularities. They demanded greater transparency in the conduct of national entrance examinations and called for reforms to restore public confidence in the examination system.
