The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings for several states, including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and parts of Northeast India. Continuous monsoon activity has increased the risk of flash floods, landslides, waterlogging, and disruptions to transportation. Authorities have advised residents living in low-lying and hilly regions to remain alert and follow weather updates closely. Disaster management teams have been deployed in vulnerable districts, while local administrations are monitoring river levels and preparing evacuation measures where necessary.
In Kerala, several districts are under orange and yellow alerts as intense rainfall continues to affect normal life. Schools in some districts may remain closed depending on local conditions, and fishermen have been advised not to venture into rough seas due to strong winds and high waves. National and state disaster response teams are on standby to respond quickly to emergencies.
The IMD has also warned that isolated areas may receive extremely heavy rainfall over the next few days. Commuters are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rain, while motorists should remain cautious on waterlogged roads.
