The newly appointed Commissioner of Greater Chennai Police has announced that women’s safety and strict action against rowdyism will be among the department’s top priorities. Speaking during a recent media interaction, the commissioner stated that special focus will be given to strengthening night patrols, improving emergency response systems, and increasing police visibility in sensitive areas across the city.

Officials also said intensified operations will continue against criminal gangs and repeat offenders to improve public safety. The police department plans to enhance surveillance measures and strengthen coordination between law enforcement teams to ensure quicker action on complaints.

Authorities encouraged residents to actively report incidents through police helplines and digital complaint systems, emphasizing that maintaining public safety requires strong community cooperation.
