Peace efforts between Russia and Ukraine remain stalled after a temporary three-day ceasefire collapsed, leading to renewed Russian drone and missile attacks across multiple Ukrainian regions.
According to reports, Russian forces launched more than 200 drones shortly after the U.S.-mediated ceasefire ended, killing civilians and damaging infrastructure in areas including Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Kryvyi Rih. Ukrainian officials said at least six people were killed in the latest strikes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of undermining peace efforts and continuing attacks despite ongoing international diplomatic pressure. Meanwhile, the Kremlin stated that negotiations toward a broader settlement are still “a very long way off.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed optimism that the war could eventually move toward an end, but major disagreements over occupied territories and security guarantees continue to block any long-term agreement.
The renewed violence has further weakened hopes for a lasting ceasefire as fighting intensifies along eastern frontline regions.
