Iran has officially rejected the latest ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States, escalating tensions in the Middle East amid ongoing regional instability. Iranian officials stated that Tehran would only consider an agreement that guarantees a “permanent end to the war” and protects its national interests.
According to reports, Iran’s response was delivered through Pakistani mediators and included demands such as lifting sanctions, ending military pressure in the Strait of Hormuz, and broader regional security guarantees. The US proposal reportedly focused on halting hostilities and restricting Iran’s nuclear activities.
US President Donald Trump described Iran’s response as “totally unacceptable” and warned that further military action could follow if negotiations collapse. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also stated that security concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear programme remain unresolved.
The latest development has increased global concerns over oil supply routes and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy corridors. News as Reported.
