Two workers lost their lives after being electrocuted while carrying out work in the Manali area of Chennai on Monday.
According to officials, the workers accidentally came into contact with a live overhead electric wire during the course of their work. The high-voltage shock caused severe injuries, and both workers collapsed at the scene.
Local residents immediately alerted authorities, and emergency teams rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared them dead on arrival due to the severity of the electric shock.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Authorities are also examining whether proper safety precautions were followed at the worksite.
