Hyderabad is preparing for major traffic disruptions on April 2, 2026, due to the Hanuman Jayanti procession, one of the city’s significant religious events. Police have announced extensive traffic restrictions across several key routes to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the celebrations.
The main procession, known as the “Sri Veera Hanuman Vijay Yatra,” will begin at Gowliguda and cover a distance of nearly 12 kilometers before concluding at Tadbund. Authorities expect participation from over 100 processions merging into the main rally, making it a large-scale event.
To manage the situation, traffic diversions will be implemented at major junctions, including ECIL Cross Roads, Tarnaka, LB Nagar, and other busy areas. Heavy vehicles, buses, and goods carriers will face restrictions along the procession routes. Additionally, strict no-parking rules will be enforced, and vehicles violating them may be towed.
Security has also been intensified, with thousands of police personnel deployed across the city. Special precautions are being taken to maintain communal harmony, including preventive measures along sensitive routes.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and avoid affected areas during the procession hours. Officials have also urged citizens to follow traffic advisories and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
