Thiruvananthapuram police, in a joint operation with the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF), have arrested three individuals in connection with a significant drug seizure in Sreekaryam, marking another step in the ongoing crackdown on synthetic narcotics in Kerala. The operation took place at a rented house in Cheruvakkal near Nambikal, where law enforcement officers recovered 115 grams of MDMA, a synthetic psychoactive substance that is banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The three arrested have been identified as Kebin Abraham Koshy (31) from Kollam, A B Ashok (30) from Neyyattinkara, and Hakeem (45) from Vallakadavu. According to police sources, the trio had rented the property under the pretext of being employees of a CNG company, a tactic believed to be aimed at avoiding suspicion while storing and distributing drugs.

Investigators said the arrests came after intelligence gathered from suspects detained in a separate MDMA case last week, suggesting the group was part of a drug distribution network that procured the contraband from Bengaluru and transported it into Kerala for retail sale. During the search, officers seized micro weighing scales and glass oil burner tubes, commonly used for consuming narcotic substances, alongside the MDMA.

Police noted that Hakeem is a repeat offender with several previous drug-related cases against him, while the other two suspects are also believed to be actively involved in the procurement and distribution process. The trio has been handed over to Sreekaryam police for further interrogation and legal proceedings under the NDPS Act.
