The Telangana Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) 2026 results have brought encouraging news for students and educators in Hyderabad and across the state. The second-year pass percentage rose to 75.6%, marking the highest success rate in the last five years. This is a noticeable improvement compared to 71.4% recorded in 2025.

Out of approximately 4.11 lakh students who appeared for the second-year exams, around 3.11 lakh successfully passed. A significant number—over 2.13 lakh students—secured ‘A’ grades, indicating strong academic performance. However, the first-year results showed a slight dip, with the pass percentage falling to 66.9% from 69.4% the previous year. Around 2.95 lakh of the 4.41 lakh students cleared the exams.

A consistent trend observed again this year is the superior performance of girls compared to boys. In the second year, 81.8% of girls passed, while only 68.9% of boys cleared the exams. Similarly, in the first year, 74.4% of girls passed compared to 59.21% of boys. This gender gap highlights ongoing differences in academic outcomes.

Students who are dissatisfied with their results have the option to apply for recounting or reverification. The application window is open from April 13 to April 20. The fee is ₹100 per subject for recounting and ₹800 per subject for reverification.

The improved results are seen as a positive sign for the state’s education system, reflecting better preparation strategies and possibly improved teaching methods. However, the dip in first-year performance suggests that further attention is needed at the foundational level.
