The Prime Minister has released the latest instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, transferring direct financial assistance to millions of farmers across India. The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and provide timely economic support to small and marginal farmers.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments directly transferred to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The latest instalment has been credited to beneficiaries nationwide, ensuring farmers receive financial aid to support agricultural activities such as purchasing seeds, fertilizers, and other essential inputs for cultivation.
The programme, launched by Narendra Modi, has become one of the largest farmer support schemes in the country. It aims to reduce financial pressure on rural households and improve agricultural productivity by ensuring farmers have access to basic working capital during the farming season.
Government officials stated that the scheme has significantly improved transparency and efficiency in delivering financial assistance by eliminating intermediaries. With the use of digital platforms and Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, funds are transferred directly to beneficiaries in a secure and timely manner.
Agricultural experts believe that continued support through initiatives like PM-Kisan plays an important role in strengthening rural economies and ensuring food security. As agriculture remains a key pillar of India’s economy, such financial assistance programmes are expected to help farmers manage costs, improve crop production, and maintain economic stability in rural communities news
