On November 28, 2025, Narendra Modi officially unveiled a towering 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram at the historic Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mutt in South Goa. The statue — described by organisers as the world’s tallest representation of Lord Ram — was sculpted by veteran artist Ram Sutar, who previously crafted the iconic Statue of Unity.
The unveiling was the centrepiece of the mutt’s grand 550-year celebration, known as the “Sardha Panchashatamanotsava.” As part of the festivities, Modi also inaugurated a new Ramayana-themed park within the mutt’s grounds, and released a commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp.
Addressing the gathering, Modi highlighted the mutt’s centuries-long legacy of spiritual and cultural service, calling it a bridge between tradition and modernity. He emphasized that the statue and accompanying developments reflect a broader commitment to heritage preservation, unity, and cultural resurgence across India.
The new landmark is expected to draw large numbers of pilgrims and tourists, enhancing Goa’s appeal as a destination for spiritual tourism while marking a new chapter in the mutt’s historic journey.
