Several parts of Bengaluru are experiencing scheduled power outages as electricity authorities carry out maintenance and infrastructure upgrade work across the city. The power cuts, announced by the Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), are expected to affect multiple neighborhoods for several hours during the day.

According to BESCOM officials, the outages are necessary to perform critical maintenance on power lines, transformers, and distribution systems. Such maintenance helps improve the reliability of electricity supply and prevents unexpected blackouts in the future.

Residents in affected areas have been advised to plan their daily activities accordingly, as the outages may disrupt household routines, office work, and business operations. Small businesses such as shops, workshops, and service centers often face difficulties during prolonged power cuts, especially when they rely heavily on electrical equipment.

The electricity board stated that these temporary disruptions are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at meeting the growing power demand in Bengaluru. As the city continues to expand rapidly, electricity consumption has increased significantly due to new residential developments, commercial buildings, and technology parks.

Many residents have expressed concern about frequent power interruptions, particularly in areas where outages occur regularly. Some have requested better scheduling and prior notification so they can make alternative arrangements.

BESCOM officials have assured the public that maintenance work will be completed as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience. They also emphasized that upgrading the electricity network is essential to support the city’s long-term development and ensure stable power supply for Bengaluru’s growing population.
