More than 1 million people took to the streets in major cities worldwide on 14 February 2026 in an unprecedented global show of support for protesters inside Iran demanding freedom and an end to violent repression. The coordinated rallies were held in Munich, Toronto, Los Angeles and other capitals and diaspora hubs, with organizers estimating roughly 250,000 participants in Munich and approximately 350,000 each in Toronto and Los Angeles. Large gatherings also took place in London, Vancouver and several European and Australian cities.

The protests were part of a “Global Day of Action” called by exiled Iranian opposition leader Reza Pahlavi, who urged the international community to stand with Iranians facing a severe crackdown by Tehran’s security forces. Participants waved pre-1979 Lion and Sun flags and chanted slogans calling for an end to oppression and greater global pressure on the Iranian government.

Inside Iran, reports said people responded by chanting from rooftops and windows after the demonstrations abroad, underscoring the deepening domestic unrest amid ongoing repression and a disputed death toll from the protest movement.
