Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala — With the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections approaching, one of the state’s major political parties has launched a comprehensive statewide house-to-house outreach campaign aimed at reconnecting with citizens, listening to their concerns, and strengthening its base after a recent setback in local body elections.

The campaign, initiated by the party’s leadership across Kerala, is modeled on previous grassroots exercises and involves senior leaders, local representatives, and party workers visiting households in towns and villages across the state. The objective is to gather direct feedback from the public about their issues, clarify the party’s positions on key topics, and address misinformation circulating ahead of the polls.

Senior party figures, including the general secretary and state leadership, have been personally leading these door-to-door visits, engaging with residents on a range of topics including employment, public services, development projects, and recent controversies that have shaped political discourse. In several districts, leaders have met families at their homes, listened to their daily challenges, and recorded suggestions to inform future policy messaging. The campaign is expected to run until late January as part of an intensified outreach strategy before the larger election battle begins.

Officials involved in the programme say the strategy responds to shifts in voter sentiment reflected in the recent local elections, where the party performed below expectations in several regions. By going directly to voters’ homes, the leadership aims to demonstrate responsiveness and rebuild trust ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

In addition to listening tours, the house-visit campaign also includes explaining the party’s achievements and plans, addressing negative narratives about past governance, and highlighting how proposed policies could address local needs. Analysts view this grassroots mobilisation as a critical test of the party’s organisational strength and voter connect in the run-up to one of Kerala’s most closely contested electoral seasons in recent years.
