The Kerala Government has reiterated that it is committed to maintaining a cooperative relationship with the Central Government, emphasizing that development and public welfare require coordination rather than confrontation. Senior state leaders said Kerala will continue to engage constructively with New Delhi on projects, funding, and administrative matters while safeguarding the state’s constitutional rights and interests.
Speaking on the government’s approach, ministers stated that differences over policy or administrative issues should be addressed through dialogue and institutional mechanisms instead of political conflict. They stressed that cooperation with the Centre is essential for securing approvals, financial assistance, and the timely implementation of infrastructure and welfare projects that benefit the people of Kerala.
The government’s position comes amid ongoing discussions on several issues requiring close coordination with the Union Government, including infrastructure development, central funding, railway projects, and parliamentary coordination. As part of this strategy, the Chief Minister’s Office is establishing a dedicated liaison mechanism in New Delhi along with a digital dashboard to improve communication with Kerala’s Members of Parliament and to monitor proposals pending before the Centre.
State leaders clarified that while Kerala will continue to raise concerns on matters affecting its financial interests, federal rights, or policy priorities, such issues should be pursued through constitutional and democratic channels. They maintained that constructive engagement offers the best opportunity to secure favourable outcomes for the state while preserving cooperative federalism.
Political observers note that the government’s remarks reflect an effort to balance healthy federal dialogue with the need to accelerate development projects. Officials believe that improved coordination between the state, the Centre, and Kerala’s MPs will help speed up project approvals, enhance fund utilisation, and improve the delivery of public services.
The Kerala Government has affirmed that its primary focus remains economic growth, infrastructure development, employment generation, and public welfare. It expressed confidence that a collaborative approach with the Central Government would enable the state to advance major development initiatives while continuing to represent Kerala’s interests effectively at the national level.
