French President Emmanuel Macron is set to embark on an official visit to India from February 17 to 19, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant moment in the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations. During this three-day visit, Macron will participate in the India-AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, an important global forum focusing on the development, governance, and ethical use of artificial intelligence — reinforcing the strong tech-centric collaboration between France and India and building on last year’s AI Action Summit co-chaired by the two leaders in Paris.

The AI Impact Summit, taking place from February 16 to 20, is expected to draw global participation from policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to deliberate on the role of AI in economic growth, sustainable development, and global governance. Macron’s presence underscores France’s commitment to expanding cooperation in emerging technologies and signals a shared vision for shaping international norms around AI.

Beyond the summit, Macron and Modi are scheduled to hold wide-ranging bilateral talks focused on advancing the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, a long-term strategic framework aimed at strengthening ties across sectors such as defence, clean energy, digital technologies, space, and people-to-people exchanges. Discussions will also address regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

The visit will also feature the joint inauguration of the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 in Mumbai, highlighting shared ambitions in technology, research, and innovation throughout the year news as reported.
