Five people were injured after a speeding car collided with multiple motorcycles in the Thoraipakkam area of Chennai on Tuesday evening, according to local police officials.
The accident reportedly occurred on a busy stretch of road when the car, allegedly traveling at high speed, lost control and rammed into several two-wheelers waiting near a traffic signal. Eyewitnesses said the impact knocked riders off their motorcycles and caused panic among nearby motorists and pedestrians.
Emergency services rushed to the scene soon after the crash. The injured victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police sources said none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, though some victims suffered fractures and other injuries.
Officers from the Tamil Nadu Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding and possible negligence by the driver may have contributed to the crash.
