Leaders from multiple farmer organizations reported strong participation across several states, with rallies, road blockades, and market closures organized to highlight concerns related to agricultural policies, support prices, input costs, and legal protections for cultivators. They emphasized that symbolic meetings or informal discussions would not be sufficient to resolve what they describe as long-pending structural issues affecting the farming community.
According to union coordinators, a joint delegation is prepared to meet central authorities at short notice, but they want a clear agenda and timeline for resolution. Protest organizers said past experiences have made farmers cautious, and therefore they are seeking transparent, minuted discussions and follow-up mechanisms.
The government has indicated willingness to engage and has appealed for restraint, noting that prolonged shutdowns affect supply chains, transportation, and urban consumers in addition to rural economies. Meanwhile, unions are continuing peaceful demonstrations and coordination meetings, stating that essential goods movement and emergency services will be allowed wherever possible.
