A delivery executive has been arrested in Bengaluru after allegedly assaulting a customer during a late-night dispute over a delivery location. The incident occurred in the Koramangala area and has sparked discussions about safety and behaviour in the growing food-delivery industry.
According to the police, the incident took place around 2 a.m. when the delivery agent arrived at the wrong floor while delivering an order. The customer reportedly directed him to the correct apartment location, but the situation quickly escalated into an argument.
Authorities said the delivery executive allegedly became aggressive during the confrontation and verbally abused the customer. The dispute soon turned violent, and the delivery agent reportedly punched the customer in the face.
The victim suffered a broken nose and other facial injuries as a result of the attack. After the incident, the delivery agent fled the location. However, police later traced and arrested him based on the complaint and available evidence.
The accused has been taken into judicial custody while further investigation continues. Police officials said they are reviewing statements from witnesses and examining CCTV footage from the area.
The incident has raised concerns about safety during late-night deliveries, especially in busy neighbourhoods such as Koramangala. Residents have called for stricter background checks and better training for delivery personnel.
Experts say the rapid expansion of food-delivery services in major cities has created new challenges in terms of customer safety, worker conditions, and dispute resolution.
Authorities have advised both customers and delivery workers to remain calm during disagreements and report issues through official company support systems rather than resorting to confrontation.
