A bomb threat email sent to the headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru prompted a major security response on Friday before authorities confirmed that the threat was a hoax. The incident led to extensive security checks across the ISRO campus, with police and bomb disposal teams conducting a thorough search to ensure the safety of employees and critical infrastructure.
According to police officials, the threatening email was received by the organisation, immediately triggering standard security protocols. Personnel from the Bengaluru City Police, bomb detection and disposal squads, and canine units were deployed to inspect office buildings, laboratories, parking areas, and surrounding premises.
After several hours of detailed inspections, security teams confirmed that no explosive devices or suspicious objects were found within the campus. Officials subsequently declared the threat to be false, allowing normal operations at the ISRO headquarters to resume.
Investigators launched a cyber probe to trace the origin of the email. Preliminary findings led authorities to a suspect in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where the email is believed to have originated. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the false threat and are expected to initiate legal action against those responsible.

Authorities have once again appealed to the public against circulating false threats or misinformation, warning that such actions disrupt essential services, consume valuable security resources, and constitute serious criminal offences under Indian law.
