Governments and organisations across the Asia-Pacific region are strengthening climate laws and advancing green initiatives to tackle the escalating climate emergency. At a major regional forum in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, policymakers and civil society leaders renewed commitments to implement Sustainable Development Goal 13 on climate action, highlighting ambitions such as Mongolia’s net-zero by 2050 target and large-scale reforestation plans.

Climate finance is gaining momentum, with more than 150 representatives from over 20 countries convening in Bangkok to explore sustainable funding for resilience and adaptation projects. These dialogues aim to embed climate priorities into public finance systems and mobilise both public and private investment to protect vulnerable communities.

Regional partnerships are also expanding: organisations like the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Grow Asia renewed multi-year agreements to integrate gender equality, climate resilience and digital transformation into agricultural policy dialogues across the region.

Meanwhile, Asia-Pacific climate leadership is being recognised through civil society and business efforts — including sustainability awards that spotlight influential voices and innovations driving environmental progress.

These moves signal a growing regional drive to strengthen legal frameworks, finance mechanisms and collaborative initiatives that support a green transition and climate resilience amid rising environmental risks.
