Andhra Pradesh has announced the formation of five new revenue divisions and one new mandal, marking a key administrative expansion aimed at improving governance and ensuring faster delivery of public services. The restructuring comes as part of the state’s commitment to decentralization, making government services more accessible to residents in remote and rapidly developing regions.

Revenue divisions act as crucial administrative units that oversee mandals, land records, welfare schemes, and developmental activities. With increasing population and expanding settlements across various districts, officials stated that existing divisions were finding it challenging to manage workloads efficiently. The addition of new divisions is expected to reduce administrative pressure, minimize delays in providing certificates and services, and enhance monitoring of government schemes.

The creation of a new mandal will further support localized governance by enabling better coordination at the village level. Mandals are vital for handling revenue matters, agricultural support, rural development, and beneficiary-oriented schemes. With the new mandal, citizens will no longer need to travel long distances for basic government services.

The state government emphasized that this move aligns with long-term development goals, allowing districts to function more smoothly and deliver welfare benefits in a timely manner.
