The incident, which occurred during peak business hours, caused significant inconvenience to commuters, shop owners, and pedestrians.
Civic officials conducted on-site inspections to assess possible reasons behind the flooding. Preliminary findings suggest that blocked stormwater drains, silt accumulation, and inadequate outflow during high tide conditions may have contributed to the water stagnation. Authorities are also examining whether ongoing construction activities and road resurfacing works affected the natural drainage gradient.
