Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated a series of key infrastructure projects in the Kolathur neighbourhood of Chennai, including new buildings at the Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College, an air-conditioned bus shelter, a roadside park, a fair price shop, and an Integrated Child Development Centre. The college facilities were constructed at a cost of ₹31.45 crore and are expected to enhance educational opportunities for local students.

In addition to the infrastructure expansions, free house site pattas were distributed to 2,007 beneficiaries as part of the state’s housing support initiatives. At the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that 516 students from the college secured jobs through campus placements and announced the establishment of a Chief Minister’s Creative Centre with high-speed internet to boost employability and skills development.

Stalin also reaffirmed the ongoing North Chennai development efforts, which include stadium upgrades, improved hospital services, parks, and housing for low-income residents under the Dravidian governance model. These projects are part of broader urban development and welfare measures being implemented across Tamil Nadu.
